Shower Valves and Bath Filler ... - Convenience Home Improvement
Bath filler taps are the most popular choice when compared to all the other types of taps preferred for bathrooms. Since the water in these taps is allowed to mix in the body itself, it has a much better control of temperature.
It sits flat on the bath rim and only one single spout is required to supply a mix of hot and cold water. Bath filler taps are available in a wide range of designs and also offer a wide variety of finishes to choose from.
It is provided with two handles on either side of the spout that allow the supply of either only hot or only cold water. The styles prevailing are traditional, Victorian and contemporary, to name a few.
Shower valves are divided into two widely accepted systems, namely:?
? Pressure balancing valve?
? Thermostatic valve
Pressure balancing valve:?
This system of shower vales consists of a singular control as well as handle.
While the pressure and force with which the water comes out remains constant, the temperature of the water changes with the direction in which the handle is moved. Moving it to the left makes the water warmer and moving it to the right makes it cooler. The water, however, gushes out with the same force, irrespective of the direction in which the handle is moved.
With the availability of ample amount of hot water, the pressure balancing valve maintains a constant and accurate temperature, limiting the change to a maximum of 3 degrees. Being facile in operation, it is suitable for all bathroom types.
Thermostatic valve:?
This type of shower valves has several controls. However, its only function is to maintain the temperature of the water.
A volume control is attached which controls the supply of water through each valve. In this system, the user has the advantage of selecting a desired temperature for the water before turning it on. It provides users with a luxury bath.
